The Society for the Preservation of the Mosaic Templars of America Building ("MTBPS") organized in 1992 for the purpose of securing and rehabilitating the Mosaic Templars Headquarters Building at the corner of Broadway and Ninth Street in Little Rock, Arkansas. The building housed the Mosaic Templars of America, a black fraternal organization that by the 1920's had amassed one of the largest concentrations of black-owned and controlled capital in the United States. The Mosaic Templars Building is currently being restored and will become the Mosaic Templars of America Center for African American Culture & Business Enterprise under the Department of Arkansas Heritage. This website offers the latest news on the restoration of the Mosaic Templars Building as well as information on exhibits, events, and future research planned around the restoration. If you are interested in helping in this project, please visit How You Can Help. If you would like to see documents, artifacts, or photos related to the Mosaic Templars of America or the historic Ninth Street business district, please visit Artifacts & Photos. We also invite your comments and questions. You may email us. To learn more about the Mosaic Templars of America, please see History of Mosaic Templars. Our History of Ninth Street page also includes a map that shows many of the businesses along Ninth Street and Broadway from 1886 to 1968.
